M.A.S.K Coming to DVD
Mobile Armored Strike Kommand
Yes that other 80's cartoon and toy line. It wasn't Transformers, it wasn't G.I.Joe, it was a little of both. Vehicles with alternate/attack modes, and pilots.
The Flying Gull Winged Chevy Camaro: Thunderhawk
The Blue Chopper / Fighter Jet: Switchblade
The Classic Pontiac GTO /Battle Tank: Stinger
The Motorcycle / attack personal chopper: Condor
These things were just what a 10 year old kid would dream about. Flying road vehicles with a hidden Arsenal. Its James Bond gone Heavy Metal.
Shout! Factory the guys who have brought us the Transformers series on DVD, just struck a deal with Fremantle Media to release the first 65 episodes of M.A.S.K on DVD.
The only episodes missing are the Racing season episodes, which apparently are owned by some other company.
Now I'm aware there have been other releases outside North America of the series, however this is the first official North American Release.
And for those wanting a live action movie revival of this franchise take a look at Arnold Schwarzenegger's 6th Day. (I may review it in the near future). Some of the Vehicles are just M.A.S.K wanting to happen.
