The Dark Knight Target Exclusive Cowl DVD set

Now everybody knows the Dark Knight Movie was awesome, so if you haven't seen it go watch it now it truly is a great comic book movie.

Today however we are talking about one of the many home releases of this move. The Target Exclusive 3 Disc Limited Edition DVD set.

For those of you not in the USA, Target is a wide spread chain department store famous for its discounted prices, and Oprah's heavy promotions of it. You can find anything from food to clothes to toys to electronics.

Its my favorite place to shop for movies because there are always cheap offers around for them. I've picked movies there for less than 5 bucks. Its really a money saver for those movies you don't want to buy at full price but want to have a bit more than a rental or digital download.

A few years ago I picked up the Iron-Man 2 pack form Target and loved the packaging. Yes the big helmet disc holder looks really cool on the shelf. So when The Dark Knight came out on DVD I swung by Target and picked up this special edition.

You may be wondering why I did not go for the Blue-Ray version? Well at the time I hadn't yet embraced the wow factor of the Blue Ray dvd's and I didn't own an actual Blue Ray player yet. So I picked up the regular DVD set.

The main draw of this set is of course the packaging, and unlike most dvd owners I keep my dvd's package, and rarely do I have only the digital version of a movie I really like. So yes I have a large book case full of DVD's.

The set comes in a window box with Batman to one side and the customary movie summary and details about the set, and movie credits on the back. Open the box and you are greeted by 2 things: The nicely painted black cowl that is the defining feature of Batman, and an envelope with the movie poster on one side and a brick wall on the other.

The cowl has a very nice rubbery feel to it. It opens up from the back to reveal two discs. The feature film on one and the Special features and digital copy on the other. The third disc is an exclusive featurette that takes a look at the psychology of the Bat. Its pretty interesting.

The set in my opinion is very cool, a great display piece. The Special features aren't anything earth breaking but are interesting none the less. All in all for $12.99 sale price I thinks its a great piece. There is a Blue Ray version of the Cowl now, so you can get it at Amazon.com. Just follow the below link.
